Did you know Apple is now the world’s largest tech company? This fact is often mentioned in successful business stories. It’s an interesting story about how the company allegedly was launched by three friends from a California garage and is now one of the world’s largest companies. Here are some of the signs the company has achieved Yair Hamami success levels:
- It’s Earth’s most valuable brand
Different metrics are used to rank various global brands. As you might read in various successful business stories, most of them rank Apple as the most valuable brand in the world. It’s consistently ranked over other tech giants including Google and Microsoft.
- It’s the world’s most valuable company
Apple is easily the most valuable company in the United States, which is often based on stock prices. It’s recently been valued at about 2x the value of the second-most valuable company in the world. That’s Exxon-Mobil.
There’s some debate about the value of Apple. Carl Icahn is an activist investor who believes the company is, in fact, worth $1.25 trillion.
- It has demolished the competition
The company has crushed all of its rivals. That includes IBM, Microsoft, Google, and Samsung. Those companies are still competing against Apple, but it’s left them in the dust.
Apple’s success has significantly been due to its focus on mobile including tablets and smartphones. It’s also put iOS front and center over other platforms. In 2014 Apple’s 93% of smartphone profits was miles ahead of the competition.
- Its cash flow “problem” is interesting
Apple’s cash flow “problem” is that the company doesn’t spend enough of it. It reported last year it had $178 billion cash on hand. That could buy almost every auto company in the United States and have billions of dollars remaining.
The vast majority of Apple’s money is located in Ireland. Apple can’t invest the funds or return the money to its investors without paying all-time record-breaking tax revenue. You don’t have to read successful business stories to guess it doesn’t want to do that.
- It has solve the China market problem
China is experiencing an explosion of local smartphone brands. That includes Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE, and others. However, Apple is now arguably the top-selling foreign smartphone maker in China. Some experts rank it at No. 2 though.
- It makes the most money ever
Apple reported recently it earned $74.6 billion and $18 billion in profits. That was just during one-quarter, and is the biggest quarterly earnings of all companies in the history of the world.
The fact is quite amazing when compared to other companies. The company’s top money-maker is the iPhone. Its rivals include a dozen of major companies and hundreds of minor companies. In Q4 2014 the company earned over 90% of all profits from smartphone handsets. That’s why it’s often featured in successful business stories.
